Goodies for Lefties December 8, 2008

Some of my favorite people are left-handed and the U.S. will soon have its eighth left-handed president. Knowing how right-minded the world can be, this post is all about the cool things out there that are left-minded.

Learn about the legends and lore of lefties while keeping your schedule with the The Left-Hander’s Desk Calendar ($12.59).

Have your watch be a lefty too with the Dakota Southpaw Watch, which has the winder knob and light trigger on the left so it is easier to access when worn on the right wrist. Available for $27.97 from Left-hand Zone.

Not exciting, but definitely useful is the Left-Handed General Purpose Scissors, $12.95. Excellent to have handy. Great gift for a south paw knitter or craft-lover, particularly when paired with Beginning Knitting for Left-Handed Knitters (DVD) ($29.95) or Left-Handed Knitting DVD ($27) or Regina Hurlburt’s Left-handed Knitting book (out of print so pricey).

Give them a fun little stocking stuffer or goody with this witty magnet, I May Be Left Handed But I’m Always Right. Available for $1.59 from Left Hand Zone.

You can have your bread and slice it too with this left-handed serrated Eight-inch Bread Knife made by Taylor’s Eye Witness and available for $24.52 from Anything Left Handed.

Let fun and games ensue with Left-Handed Playing Cards, $7.50, from Lefty’s of San Francisco.

It seems so logical, but have you ever seen a Left-Handed Camera? Well, Sinister Shop carries one for $30, plus $5 S&H. Alas, it is 35mm, but still a milestone for south paw technology.
